J Todd Applegate graduated magna cum laude in the Honors College with a B.S. in Sociology from Missouri State University in 1994. He received his J.D. in 1998 from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, where he was the Senior Articles Editor for the International Law Review Association.

Todd was admitted to the Bar in Missouri in 1998 and is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Missouri. He was admitted to the Illinois Bar in 2000. Prior to joining Rabbitt, Pitzer & Snodgrass, he practiced law in Springfield, Missouri.

Todd is a member of the Missouri and Illinois Bars, The Lawyers Association of St. Louis, Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, Defense Research Institute, and the American Bar Association. He attended the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers Trial Academy in 2002 and the International Association of Defense Counsel Trial Academy in 2005, and was an author and presenter at the National Business Institute seminar "Settling Uninsured and Underinsured Motorist Claims" in June of 2008.

Todd has handled nearly twenty jury trials involving personal injury and property damage claims, business and commercial litigation, construction, and first and third party insurance coverage and bad faith claims throughout Missouri and Illinois.
